From Tamedia to TX: why Tamedia was split up and we became TX Markets
The media industry faced a massive transformation over the last years. Within less than a decade, business models and cultures changed drastically. And so did Tamedia.
Our wide-ranging activities developed dynamically and along the way, our skill sets broadened and cultures diversified. We believe proximity to the markets and agility is central and, in consequence, adopted a forward-looking corporate structure and a new name. As of 2020, a decentralised organisation with four largely independent companies has been established under the umbrella of the TX Group.
A decade ago, the group’s digital business accounted for <10% of revenue and <5% of EBITDA. What started with a few investments into classifieds companies is now one of Switzerland’s largest digital enterprises, accounting for the majority of the group’s profit with a portfolio of leading classifieds and online marketplaces.
